Hard to tell the difference, we know, but our Plant-Based Whopper® features a plant-based patty - flame-grilled just like the classic Whopper® - so you get that same irresistible flame-grilled flavor you know and love. And just like the classic Whopper®, it's also loaded with crisp fresh lettuce, freshly sliced tomatoes, onion, pickles, and ketchup on a toasted sesame seed bun.

You’ve got questions,
we’ve got answers.

Where do you get your plant-based patties from?

The patties come from our partner for plant-based products: The Vegetarian Butcher™. The patties are said to feel, taste and look similar to real meat.

Together with The Vegetarian Butcher™ we have developed our plant-based patties using soy protein, wheat, vegetable oils and a mix of spices to create the amazing texture, bite and flavor our burgers are known for. We carefully developed the recipe to ensure our plant-based patties taste amazing.

Why does Burger King offer plant-based products?

The introduction and expansion of the plant-based menu is a response to the demand from our guests who are asking for a variety of options and more plant-based products.

Do your plant-based products offer a more sustainable option and healthier?

Our plant-based beef alternative patties contribute up to 90% less CO2e emissions than our regular beef patties* and The Vegetarian Butcher, our supplier for our plant-based beef and chicken alternatives patties, committed to sourcing Non-GMO soy from areas of low risk for deforestation.

Is there cross contamination between meat and plant-based burgers?

Our plant-based beef alternative patties are cooked on the same broiler as our beef patties to give you the authentic flame-grilled Burger King taste. Our plant-based chicken alternative patties are cooked in separate friers from our chicken patties and we have strict procedures in place to reduce the risk of cross contamination.
